Book Reviews

Heh, sorry for not doing the book reviews that much any more. Bunch o topics I need to talk about, and excitement happening 'round here. Oh, and we're visiting our grandma and grandpa in Idaho and Utah next week. You writers gonna be writing good books while I'm away? Or maybe should I keep blogging at my mom's mom and dad, and my dad's dad and mom?

Book Helping: Features

Make your book true to what it is! If it's a spy book, make there be lots of spy details! It would be just strange if suddenly, the spy book turns into a rerun of 'The Wizard of Oz' with little Munchkins prancing about. No sir, that would not do. Or ma'm?
Make your book have something to it that makes it mysterious, funny, or even disgustingly dirty, like kids playing in a sandbox after it had just rained!
Artistry is a great way to get your readers interested. It gives an idea of what's in the book. The title, is another way to get your readers interested, such as 'The Candy Shop War' or 'Arcade Catastrophe'
Has this helped?

Book Review #2: Gregor The Overlander

Name: Gregor The Overlander

Description: A fantastic series of cool, sheer danger, excitement, and things you probably shouldn't do unless you have your parents permission like jumping off the side of a cliff (I know, parents, not such a good inspiration, huh?). Gregor follows his little sister, Boots, down a vent, soon to be led to a regal city named Regalia. Luxa, Regalia's future queen, embarks on a quest with Gregor to find Gregor's missing father. Sorry, you need to read the books to get the details! Huh? You're gonna force me to tell you? No can do! *Brenden runs off*

Main Characters: Gregor, Luxa, Boots.

Hope you buy the book and enjoy it!

Riddle

Bet nobody can figure out this poem/riddle unless you're an expert at puzzles. And here it is:

"The beginning of eternity, the end of time and space. The beginning of every end, the end of every place......"

Comment on this if you think you know the answer!!!!!!!

(Hint: Pay attention to the words!)

Book Review #3: Peter and the Starcatchers

Name: Peter and the Starcatchers
Description: A fast-paced, action-packed (OK, now I'm starting to sound like those adventure book salesmen/authors yours truly.) awesome book(Ah, that's better)! Peter, the star of the show, goes around Mollusk Island with chaos following him ( a.k.a. A feeling-really-really-really-murderous Black Stache) and a Giant crocodile tramping free, with a taste for human skin (also liver, kidney beans, and esophagus asparagus!). At the end, Peter gets a pleasant/horrifying surprise (Depends on how you look at it).

Main Characters: Peter, Molly, Black Stache, Slank.

Book Review #2: Eric Rex

Name: Eric Rex

Description: Eric Rex has a family of 12 and he has a condition he calls "cloudy thoughts". That condition causes him to do stuff he doesn't understands and sometimes doesn't want to do.
Then one morning, Erec's mother is missing. His power commands him to find her, taking him on an adventure that will change him forever. He meets Bethany, a kindred spirit who also lost both parents in a mysterious past. Together, they discover the magical worlds of Alypium, Ashona, and Aorth, where the knowledge of magic is kept.
Things in Alypium are amiss: their King Piter is hypnotized, and his castle lies on its side. When Erec tries on his mother's glasses, he finds he can see her wherever she is. She is a prisoner of King Pluto of Aorth, one of the triplets that rule over the Kingdom of the Keepers. Erec can not understand why Pluto would want her ... but secrets start to tumble out. Erec learns he was born in Alypium, and he may not be safe there. He is upset she has hidden so much from him, and loses trust in her.
His only hope to rescue his mother is to find ingredients for a formula to blast her free. While searching for them, he enters contests to choose the next three rulers of Alypium.

Main Characters: Eric, Bethany, Mom.

My opinion: IT IS AWE-INSPIRING!

Book Review #1: Series of Unfortunate Events

Name: Series of Unfortunate Events

Description: Klaus, Violet, and Sunny are three kids with a lot of misfortune... and the Baudelaire fortune. In the first book, they meet a clever, filthy, and cunning personage, Count Olaf. After foiling his first evil plan to get his filthy hands on the fortune, Olaf begins following them under count-less disguises and identities. In the first book he's his normal self, but then in the second book he's another person, and in the third book he's- well, you have probably got the idea.

Main Characters: Count Olaf, Sunny, Klaus, Violet
